چکیده

Liver disease is a significant global health issue that affects the liver and contributes to approximately 2 million deaths worldwide each year. Although treatment options including surgery medication are available, effective remains challenge because of limitations traditional drug-delivery methods, such as uneven nonspecific drug distribution, which lead negative effects on healthy tissues reduction in bioavailability. Nanotechnology provides promising solution for targeted delivery liver, has unique anatomical physiological structures render it an ideal target nanomedicine. Several categories nanomaterials, inorganic polymer multifunctional nanoparticles (NPs), have been studied potential agents targeting this organ context diseases. Using surface modification functionalization, nanomaterials can be selectively tissue or hepatocytes, thus delivering drugs, enhancing their efficacy while minimizing side effects. Nanomaterials exhibit numerous benefits; however, stability toxicity pose risks living organisms result adverse effects, protein adsorption, inflammation. Despite challenges inherent development ongoing research great liver-targeted diseases through use nanotechnology. In review, we first describe used diseases, i.e., metallic NPs, ceramic micelles, polysaccharides, liposomes, dendrimers, carbon nanotubes, NPs. Moreover, mechanisms discussed. Finally, review discusses current prospects future directions field.

Progress and perspectives on targeting nanoparticles for brain drug delivery

Due to the ability of the blood-brain barrier (BBB) to prevent the entry of drugs into the brain, it is a challenge to treat central nervous system disorders pharmacologically. The development of nanotechnology provides potential to overcome this problem. In this review, the barriers to brain-targeted drug delivery are reviewed, including the BBB, blood-brain tumor barrier (BBTB), and nose-to-b...
